This 2.5" scale steam dome base measures 6.5" OD at the base (down the sides of the boiler), 5.875" OD at the top and is 2.125" tall from the area of the bottom that is not machined away to accept the boiler diameter. This base is designed for an 8" boiler with a shoulder on the inside that acts as a guide for grinding / machining. Turn the base in the lathe first to machine the top features and polish the casting, then remove the material for the boiler radius as the last step. The 219B steam dome base is designed to mate to the 219R ring.
