Ten Wheeler
This freelance engine is based on the Wabash 4-6-0 number 713. It is of the same period as the 2-6-0 Mogul and uses many of the same castings. It has the same construction features as the Mogul but is 5" longer. The tender has been increased by 5" in length as well to balance looks with the engine.
The design is such that an older Mogul could be converted to a ten wheeler without making any major changes to the chassis and running gear. The Mogul boiler is utilized by adding a 5" section of 8 5/8" tubing between it and the smoke box. A new boiler jacket covers the extension.
