This 2.5" scale sand dome base is designed to mate with an 8" boiler. The top OD is 4.625" and the base is 5.5". The overall height is 2.25". This part is designed to mate to the 221R ring to make a complete base. There is a shoulder inside the base that acts as a guide for trimming back to the boiler radius. Machine the top and smooth the sides in the lathe first, then grind to the interior shoulder to mate with the boiler.
